This year at the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC), Pierce Manufacturing Inc. introduced an exciting new addition to the Pierce® Ascendant® Class of Aerials. The Ascendant 100’ Aerial Tower is ideal for customers looking for a mid- or rear-mounted platform and was designed to answer demand for the innovative Ascendant ladder to be available on additional configurations.
While reaching heights of 100’ vertically and 93’ horizontally, the Ascendant 100’ Aerial Tower packages a 5-section heavy-duty steel tower onto a vehicle with a relatively low overall ride height and length (10’8” height, 41’3” length). The vehicle offers superior maneuverability and great visibility due to the 160” rear overhang minimizing tail-swing.
“We listened to our customer’s feedback”, said Lisa Barwick, director of business development for Pierce, “and incorporated elements that exceed expectations with the innovative features of the new Ascendant 100’ Aerial Tower.”
Some of the features Barwick is referring to include:
- Exceptional horizontal and vertical reach capabilities
- Superior maneuverability, drivability, operability, and serviceability
