This month we're featuring White Bear Lake Fire Department's Pierce Impel® Ascendant® 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladder.
The City of White Bear Lake Fire department is a combination department that serves the City of White Bear, White Bear Township, Dellwood, Birchwood and Gem Lake.
The department cover over 35 sq. miles and 40,000+ residents, and they are on pace to respond to over 4,700 calls annually. The department provides fire, rescue and ALS ambulance service to a diverse district that includes a 140-year-old downtown area, suburban housing, high-end homes with narrow roads, high-rise buildings, and commercial districts.
Delivered in 2021, this 107-ft. single axle Ascendant was the ideal choice to meet the heavy-duty firefighting needs of the department, while maintaining the ability to navigate tight areas.
The truck is used as a first-out unit for firefighting, rescue and extrication—a feat made possible by thoughtful, custom design and compartmentation.
