MacQueen Equipment and Oshkosh Airport Products partnered to host the first-ever Oshkosh Training Summit in Wisconsin. This summit addressed the unique snow-removal and maintenance challenges facing airports—large and small—in the upper Midwest.
Mechanics, managers and operators from 14 different airports in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin gathered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in this October to shape the future of the airport equipment industry.
“Training is one of the biggest areas we as a dealer feel we can bring value to our customers,” said MacQueen Equipment Director of Sales Mike Purdy. “This unique experience offered several equipment training opportunities, as well as the chance for supervisor and operators to meet face-to-face with the manufacturer and share challenges, ideas and successes with one another.”
Attendees participated in hands-on training sessions with several Oshkosh units. Together with Oshkosh and MacQueen Equipment staff, attendees were able to try out new technology, operate the machines with a variety of attachments, review best practices for maintenance, and talk through the latest safety features.
During the Voice of the Customer round-table sessions, attendees shared the challenges, concerns and successes with snow clearing operations. This valuable discussion helped attendees on both sides of the table understand what airports need to be successful.
The event also included plenty of time for networking. “I enjoyed hearing from the other airports,” said one operator.
The event was a huge success, and MacQueen Equipment is excited to organize future events. Thank you to everyone who participated.
