Federal Signal’s Vactor HXX ParaDIGm was named a winner at the 15th Annual Chicago Innovation Awards last week. The Chicago Innovation Awards  recognize the most innovative new products or services brought to the market or public service in the Chicago area each year. This year the award had over 643 nominees, of which only 10 were selected as winners.

Vactor introduced it’s winning Product, the HXX ParaDIGm, to the Marketplace in June of 2016. The ParaDIGm is a compact vacuum excavator that was designed utility, municipal, and contractor customers involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of underground water, sewer, gas, electric and telecommunications utilities. The customer-inspired vacuum excavator was designed based on the input of over 100 utility company and contractor job sites, along with Vactor’s experience and technology of the HXX hydro excavator line. Such a user-focused design resulted in the ParaDIGm combining the functionality and performance of a traditional hydroexcavator with the versatility of a multi-purpose work truck.

This compact, multi-use truck can dig holes with water or air; vacuum, contain and dispose of drill mud; power pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical tools; and provide transport and storage of replacement parts, equipment and tools. For more information about the ParaDIGm, see the brochure here.

Being recognized with a Chicago Innovative Award is a new milestone for Federal Signal. Jennifer Sherman, CEO, said: “We believe that the ParaDIGm, developed with an intensely customer-centric focus and built with features tailor-made for the utility market, is a perfect example of what the Chicago Innovation Awards celebrate. The ParaDIGm signifies Federal Signal’s renewed commitment to innovative product development across our multiple product offerings.”
